Owner: St. Louis College of Pharmacy
General Contractor: Paric Corporation Steel Services
Fabricator: Steel Services
Architect: Canon Design
Job Name: St. Louis College of Pharmacy, Phase I
Scope: Structural & miscellaneous steel & installation for the 6-story new construction project in the St. Louis’ Central West End.
Description: Founded in 1864, the St. Louis College of Pharmacy is the oldest college of pharmacy west of the Mississippi River. On April 25 of its sesquicentennial year, the college broke ground on Phase 1 of its campus improvement project: A new six-story, 213,000 square foot academic and research building. The first classes were held in the new building on August 17, 2015.
On this project, Paric & Steel Services engaged Acme to install 1,800 tons of structural and miscellaneous steel on all six floors. Thirty ironworkers were utilized working six days a week to meet the aggressive project schedule (one floor had to be turned over in just ten days). Despite the aggressive schedule and intense pressure, Acme had no injuries or lost time incidents on the job. Because of the performance exhibited for this project by Acme, we were re-engaged for Phase II.
