AC Hotel – 207 Room Hotel in Clayton, Missouri
Challenge: Working Safely with Limited Access
Acme, in collaboration with Midas Construction, was part of a team that converted the former Clayton Police Headquarters to an upscale 207-room hotel for the owners, Concord Hospitality. We faced the challenges of limited access and laydown areas with meticulous planning and adaptability with our team and partners.
Before Acme even arrived on the site, we had to construct masonry walls for the stair & elevator shafts, designed to be freestanding until the construction of the building began. Officials informed us that the shafts on this project were the tallest freestanding concrete masonry unit shafts ever constructed in St Louis.
Careful Planning, Scheduling & Execution
With a limited laydown area accessible only through an alley adjacent to the building’s rear, our dedicated team seamlessly adjusted transportation logistics, ensuring the smooth delivery of supplies and materials, despite these constraints.
We coordinated steel installation and prefabricated wall sections with our trusted partners, and then focused on the roof’s structural steel framing. Targeted opening date is early 2024.
At Acme, we take pride in delivering exceptional construction solutions, even amidst challenging circumstances. Our unwavering commitment to quality craftsmanship and meticulous project management sets us apart, making us the trusted choice.
